H.E. Shaikha Hind Bint Salman Al Khalifa has served as the President of the Bahrain International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW-Bahrain) since its inception in 2012.

Descended from the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Shaikha Hind graduated with a B.A. in Anthropology from the American University of Beirut in 1972. Fluent in Arabic, English and French and armed with the passionate belief that every individual should give back to society, she has done exactly that over the past five decades: focusing on giving back to Bahraini society on multiple levels, through business, charity and professional organisations.

Through her illustrious career, during which she has worked with distinction for the Kingdom’s government and also headed one of the biggest conglomerates in the Middle East, she has worked tirelessly for the cause of women, founding the Information Centre for Women and Children in 1993 where she still serves on the board of directors. She also served on the board of the Supreme Council of Women from 2000 to 2006.

H.E. Shaikha Hind has been the President of the Children and Mothers’ Welfare Society since 2006. She has been a Member of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2014 and was elected as the Vice-President of the Council of Arab Business Women in 2018.
